WebCheckout’s Authentication Module enables institutions to securely share login credentials between services, allowing Patrons access into WebCheckout and the Patron Portal with their institution user identification and password.

The configuration and management of the central authentication server is the responsibility of the client. For details including delegation of responsibility and requirements, please select link below based on the preferred authentication method.

Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
LDAP safely enables access to the institution’s directory so Patrons can login with their credentials.

Single Sign-On (SSO)
SSO securely allows Patrons to enter their credentials a single time per session to access multiple applications.

Please note, for hosted customers, WebCheckout Support will work with client’s system administrator to configure authentication method and trouble-shoot any authentication issues if the need arises.

For on-premises clients, WebCheckout Support has no visibility into client’s identify provider and limited access to the service provider. Due to these limitations, the configuration and management of authentication related issues is the client’s responsibility.
